There are a lot of ways to categorize people.

One of my favorites is near the end of "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly."

Three guys are chasing hidden gold.

(A good guy, a bad guy and an ugly guy).

The bad guy is dead.

The good guy and the ugly guy are about to look for the gold.

Then comes the famous line:

"There are two kinds of people in this world. Those with loaded guns, and those who dig. You dig."

This CAN be a very accurate way to describe human history.

There are those that have power, and the weapons and influence that comes with power.

And those who do the work.

Whenever powerful people CAN hoard as much wealth as they can, they do.

For one period in European history, there were only FOUR families that controlled everything.

Including the women, and therefore all the subsequent generations.

One in eight males in Asia is descended (allegedly) from Genghis Khan.

Dudes that have power get more sex than dudes without power.

Another way to categorize people comes from an economist.

According to this guy, there are two kinds of people in the world.

Both see the world as "broken."

It's their response to the broken world that determines who they are.

The first kind take it upon themselves to FIX the world.

And since "the world" is really PEOPLE, when they think about "fixing" the world, their plan is to MAKE people behave differently.

These folks look out into the world, and see people who AREN'T doing what they SHOULD.

And ARE doing what they SHOULDN'T.

So "fixing" the world means CHANGING people's behavior.

The second type also looks out into the world.

And sees that it's "broken."

Or not as "easy" or "optimal" as it could be.

This person's response is to not try and FIX the world.

Rather to UNDERSTAND the world.

Operate WITHIN the world.

And get what they want.

Many people stand on the sidelines, complaining that the game is "rigged."

That if ONLY the game wasn't "rigged" they'd be rich, or getting laid by supermodels.

But a brief study of human history shows the world has always been rigged.

And always will be rigged.

Which means that if you WANT to get more of what you want, there's only one way to do that.

Understand the game.

Get in the game.

Get some.

Hard to do if you don't understand the game.

Much easier to do if you do.
