Athena
Hello again! Firstly, thanks for the amazing replies to my other posts! I will reply soon and I have read it, appreciate it!! Will apply. OK, there is someone who runs online hypnosis and erm erotic hypnosis groups and I believe he is a hypnotist for real. I'm in one of his groups and I want to practice some hypno and he said we could practice on Skype. Which is very nice of him to offer. I'd only use voice (no visuals) but I think it would be great for me to practice and learn more and overall I DO feel that this is an ethical person I can trust. However, I DO have slight reservations and this is why but maybe I just need a little extra reassurance from people who know more about hypno than I? Yes, I've read and heard that a person CAN'T be made to do something they don't want to do. I kinda know this but I also know one of the things he does is work with people who want certain things that I DON'T want for me. I guess I have a slight fear he might try to use it against me? Cos certain things would be in HIS interest - maybe - but NOT mine. Maybe I need to be more specific here: He deals with hypnosis and erotic hypnosis (which are very different though with some over-lap.) However, WITHIN the erotic hypnosis and kink hypnosis HE deals with is "Bimbo-ization." Now, some submissives, be they women or sissy men (I don't mean that as a put-down or slur, SOME submissive men (not all!) are really INTO cross-dressing and sissiness (again not all!!!!) (Neither do all submissive WOMEN want to be bimbos.) SOME submissives want to explore this. And they WANT this. I DON'T want this. AT ALL. I'm quite smart, actually. Sure, I can be boy crazy! But I'm smart and I aint no bimbo and I don't have any desire to explore that in hypnosis. So I guess I want a little extra reassurance that, no, hypnosis CAN'T be used to make me act more like ways that I don't actually WANT to be at all? Cos I'd like to learn from him. I'm also in meetup groups, including hypnosis ones, but they don't really seem to (in my city, anyway) practice it, or it's times I can't make it. But i'm very keen to practice! I do not think he is machiavellian, but I'd still like the reassurance about hypnosis!

I do not think he is machiavellian, but I'd still like the reassurance about hypnosis! Be careful. It's impossible to hypnotize somebody to do something diametrically opposed to their instincts and morals, like killing somebody or jumping off cliff. That takes some serious Manchurian Candidate type brainwashing. BUT things that are in alignment with our instincts are much harder to resist. Case In Point: Plenty of people would LOVE to lose weight, but they are EASILY hypnotized by advertising to eat things they KNOW are incongruent with their goals. In the case of sex, relationships, power, it's a slippery slope, and can be very hard to resist once you start sliding down. THAT, however, would be take a pretty evil and manipulative person to pull off, which would mean they have a clear objective of making you do something, even if they say they don't. The best defense is to have a list of things you WILL NOT say or do, and to create your own personal, "bail out" anchor so if you get close to your list of red flags, you can bail without issue. Athena
I re-read your reply (hmm THAT'S a tongue-twister to say!) and I think that these are fantastic ideas for me. I have started chatting with him and so far it's going well but I think the things you have said are good very good ideas. I think they'd help me be more aware if it starts to go down that slippery slope. I'm also making sure I stay in sort of like student and mentee? mode/state too, writing notes, thinking of how I could use the examples for myself, asking questions and so on. Yeah, I'm going to do that actually. Especially as he has a LOT more knowledge about these subjects than I do, even though I DO have knowledge. At the moment he's proving trust-worthy and it seems that he's enjoying the mentor role I think this is a great way to be prepared if I DO see a red-flag and I like the bail-out anchor idea. And certain things would be OK whereas other things would be an aw HELL no for me. Thank you so so much, George!
