Who were some of the greatest NLP scholars of our time?

Just getting into NLP and would love to read more of the great books by NLP scholars and experts of our time.   If you can recommend any books (especially those from Kindle) on this subject, that would be most appreciated. And, please let me know why this particular author is so special and how they have enriched your life with NLP techniques.

I need to listen and read him a LOT more you know, but I do find him uplifting and not ONLY is he an expert but he is one of the two pioneers of NLP:

Richard Bandler.

He has a book called "Get the life you want" and there are some very good techniques in there plus you can get it with a CD rom which sounds cheesy in parts! (the music, oh my GOD! Ha ha!) but it's uplifting too.

I have a book of NLP techniques too, Beverly, I will look at what books i have cos I have two other recommendations for you, one has a LOT of techniques but does not go into depth, certainly has breadth though! and I have another great book on it which includes a technique I used when I had this life coaching client - had her for a year, she was very happy too - and it helped her with some belief change, some issues. I will get back to you with the names.  Definitely recommend that Bandler book.  Seeing this is in the presuppositions part, I will look and also see which of these books include that info.  Will get you kindle links too.  I love NLP and find it useful but I intend to learn more and practice WAY more!

I found a quote from a long time ago written by a man we have all heard of.  He said, "It is better to create than to learn.  Creating is the essence of life."  I thought about this because I was always told you need to get an education.  You need to spend the rest of your life learning.  For me learning seemed to be the essence of life.  Then I took a look at some of the great people in history, a place I want to be someday, and none of these people where acknowledge for what they learned.  Sure we hold in high regard people who have PHDs and even address them differently as in Dr. instead of Mr.  but it is not what a man or woman learns that makes them great but what they create.

I was fortunate to meet Robert Dilts the creator of Sleight of Mouth and many other wonderful NLP techniques but the one that sticks out the most to me is the Disney Strategy I listened to as he gave a lectured to a packed conference room in Palo Alto one Autumn evening.  I never felt so alive, I had never had so many ideas running through my mind of how to create products and services to help people.  So it is for that reason I suggest reading the book "Tools for Dreamers" by Dilts

P.S.

Oh and the quote was from Julius Ceasar

I have like oh zero ideas on how to create products and services to help people.  I think I've had about one (not very good one) and it's something I would LOVE to change.  That book is on a future wishlist!
