  3. https://loopvids.s3.amazonaws.com/Jan31Post.mp4 Many things are a mix between form and function. One leads the other, and vice versa. Sometimes it goes more in one way than the other. Smiling is a good example. If you're happy, you smile. But if you're in a bad mood, and you FORCE yourself to smile, you'll start to giggle. It's not like our brain is different from our body. Our lip and face muscles are attached to our brain. And these are two way electrical circuits. It's not like our brain is some metaphorical energy center that controls us from another dimension. However, most of us don't think of doing anything differently. Our mind body systems are delivered like most PC's these days. Open the box, plug it in and Bob's your Uncle. You might get a small "manual" that shows you where all the USB ports, etc. are. Beyond that, you're on your own. Our mind body systems are like that. For most of us, we show up, run on auto pilot and call it good. But there are plenty of ways to significantly hack your own operating system. Ways they'll never teach you in school. Not because of any conspiracy. But because teachers are pretty much like everybody else. Show up, do the bare minimum, and expect a paycheck. So, how do you hack your own operating system? By levering the form-function idea. Smiling and making yourself happy is pretty easy. It's more of an example rather than a useful skill. The best ways are by leveraging the form function relationship between your language and your thought. You increase the quality of your thought, you'll increase the quality of your language. But if you increase the quality of your language, you'll increase the quality of your thought. How, specifically, do you increase the quality of your language? By doing drills on language STRUCTURE. Most people don't even think about language or thought structure. They have half baked ideas (that they copied from others) and spit them out with garbled words. But you, on the other hand can develop real wizard language skills. Real wizard thought skills. And since most humans can't tell the difference between magic and complicated science, they'll believe you've got some magical powers. Sure, you'll know exactly what you are doing. You'll have developed the powerful skills of language structure to the point of unconscious competence. Which will allow you to not spit out poorly chosen and garbled words, but instead to use laser targeted words, phrases and structures. To seduce, to influence, to persuade, and to outframe any argument you hear. To most, they'll feel the effect, but not have any idea what, or how you just did that. Which is perfectly fine. Since hiding magic out in the open will only enhance your effect. Get Started: https://mindpersuasion.com/hypnotic-copywriting/

  6. https://loopvids.s3.amazonaws.com/Jan22Post.mp4 For most of human history, we were hungry. Literally. Every day the main goal was to find something to eat. The hungriest survived the best. Then they figured out how to grow stuff. This changed everything. This changed how people thought about wealth. Before, wealth was meat. Fish, fruit, roots, etc. Maybe a few animal skins. But after agriculture, wealth was still food. But food could be stored for a long time. Particularly grain. All ancient societies realized that building huge grain warehouses was a good idea. The idea is exactly the same as body fat. If you eat as much as you can, you can store the fat as extra energy. So you could live off that in case you couldn't find anything. But grain could be stored outside the body. And in massive amounts. So you could "coast" a long time, in case of calamity like bad weather or dried up rivers. But this also created another powerful idea. Of using wealth to make more wealth. You weren't required to keep all your excess for yourself. If you were a caveman, and you were hungry, you couldn't exactly borrow some of your friends body fat. (unless you happened to be a cannibal caveman...) But with grain? You could sell it. And do what with the money? Buy more land. Grow and sell more grain. And then buy even MORE land. Keep doing this, and you will own a TON of land. And you'll have a ton of power and influence. This is essentially how wealth has been created since the dawn of time. Figure out a way to make money. Take the money you make, plow it back into the system, and make even more money. This is why land is STILL connected the idea of wealth. Land produces food, which is energy. Land can be mined to find precious metals, or other resources, which is money. But what if you don't have any land? How can you make money? The digital age has created a NEW way to earn a living. Plant seeds, and wait for them to grow. Where, specifically, do you plant seeds? In people's brains. How? The easiest way possible. Words. Powerfully written words. Words that they'll think about. Words that will compel them to action. This is precisely what covert hypnosis is. The idea of telling stories, to plant ideas in their mind. That will grow and help those people become more productive, more confident, more intelligent. And when you combine this idea, of planting seeds in their mind, with the art of copywriting? You've got the absolute best of EVERYTHING humans have ever invented. Language. Wealth generating that will create more wealth. Hypnotic language patterns. And a globally connected economy that will allow you to do this ANYWHERE. 9. https://loopvids.s3.amazonaws.com/Dec17Post.mp4 Humans have tons of biases. Easy to see in others, hard to see in ourselves. Even the word, "bias" has negative connotations. When we point out, or refer to the biases in others, it's almost always negative. For example, we LOVE to point out the "confirmation bias" in others. Particularly when it comes to political arguments. Some even believe that our biases are "imperfections" in our thinking. Mistakes in our makeup. This is absolutely false. Everything about us is something that HELPED us in the past. They are only bad when we want something, and we can't get it. This just means they need to be understood. They were put there so we didn't HAVE to understand them. They were very tightly calibrated to an ancient environment. So we specifically didn't have to think. They are put there for OPTIMAL performance. And we still use our biases, to a large extent, today. For example, if you are shopping for bananas, you'll have a couple handy biases. Just the vaguely conscious thought of wanting to buy bananas will kick off a couple of "biases." One is you will have a "bias" for the produce section. Within that "bias" you'll have another "bias" for yellow things. In this example, we can see how biases are really filters. To help us find what we are looking for. Or to point out things that are dangerous. But if you still had your "banana bias" operating when you were looking for your keys, you wouldn't find your keys. (Unless they were shaped like a banana). To be sure, this is a pain. To have to take time to consciously understand things that were MEANT to be operating in the background. But that's the price we pay for living in an advanced world with all these advanced goodies. An even better way to understand and use biases is to leverage others. If you know the biases that are running on everybody else's brains, you can do some pretty spooky cool stuff. This is essentially what magicians do. And people who create optical illusions. They KNOW where our blind spots are. So they purposely create things to leverage our blind spots. So we see things that LOOK magic. You can do this with your words. Talk to people in a way that leverages their mental blind spots. Their biases. And they will think YOU are magic. They will truly believe you know everything about them. Which you can leverage anyway you like. Learn How: https://mindpersuasion.com/cold-reading/

  13. https://loopvids.s3.amazonaws.com/Nov28Post.mp4 Most of us love movies with an unexpected twist. Like when the "Sixth Sense" first came out, people couldn't stop talking about it. Whether it was done deliberately is anybody's guess, but this kind of thing is a fantastic marketing strategy. One, because it's a great way to create word of mouth, free, advertising. Two, it induces people to watch this again and again. The first time, you see the twist and you're: "Whuhhh????" The second time you watch it through trying to see all the things that SEEM obvious the second time around, but were completely hidden the first time around. This is storytelling at it's finest. When you tell a story, people talk about that story, and people want to consume this over and over again. Essentially, this is how the storytelling instinct was calibrated, over tens or perhaps hundreds of thousands of years. Every night, somebody in the tribe would tell a story. Probably most of them were pretty lame. People would fall asleep halfway through. People would wander what kind of secret weed the storyteller was smoking. But every once in a while, you'd get a "Sixth Sense" type story. These are the stories people would remember. And then retell. You have a whole bunch of tribes all telling and retelling the BEST stories from all time, and you end up with a pretty good collection. This is essentially how mythology is formed. The stories that make up the collective consciousness of any culture. Storytelling is an instinct. Story listening is an instinct. And just like our food instinct, some stories "taste good" and some taste kid of lame. And just like you can LEARN to cook good tasting food, you can LEARN to tell some pretty decent stories. The "twist" is the basis of pretty much all humor. You tell a long story, and the "punchline" is the ending that is NOT what everybody expected. Or an ending that has a few meanings at the same time. In non-humorous story, this "punchline" isn't called a punchline. It's called the twist. Or sometimes the "reveal." This word has the same meaning of the "reveal" at the end of a magic trick. This is essentially the same feeling of a well told story. A magic trick, but only with words. This is why stage magicians who practice sleight of hand are ALSO some of the very best story tellers. Being able to use your words to create mind magic is a FANTASTIC skill to have. It will open plenty of doors in ways few people know exist. 14. https://loopvids.s3.amazonaws.com/Nov27Post.mp4 I used to have this friend that liked doing magic tricks. It was his hobby. But not the tricks themselves, the actual performance of the tricks. Nowadays, with YouTube, there are plenty of people, who make plenty of money, doing tricks on camera. For those who are introverted, yet highly skilled in technical tricks, this is a dream come true. The more you practice, the more you learn, the more money you'll make. My friend told me he had a "magic demon" living inside him. Not really a demon, just a metaphor. Whenever he saw a crowd of people he HAD to do tricks. He always have a few large coins and some cards. That's all he needed. He would just start working the crowd, and doing tricks with coins and cards. He never got any negative reactions. Something about doing magic tricks triggers some kind of ancient filter in humans. We LOVE the idea of magic. So even if some goof is doing bar tricks, we HOPE they are successful. This is something that we even talk about. "Do anything interesting last weekend?" "Well, sort of." "What do you mean?" "I saw this guy down at the bar doing these tricks, disappearing coins, things like that. It was pretty cool." This is why doing simple magic tricks is a FANTASTIC way to pick up girls. Which is why my buddy learned magic in the first place. Just being surrounded by people who are watching you and listening to you will create both social proof AND authority. Two things that instinctively trigger attraction. But you can do magic without any props. This is the heart of mentalism. Doing what is essentially "word magic." This is actually much easier than doing physical magic. ESPECIALLY if nobody is expecting it. If you overtly promote yourself as a mentalist, people will expect you to do some crazy things with your words. But when you learn some simple covert technology, you can drop in brain bombs anywhere you want. This is kind of like humor, but a little different. Humor works by leveraging confusion with a small window. For example, simple jokes are based on something called phonetic ambiguity. Two words that sound the same but mean different things. For example, what did the beach say when the tide came in? Long time no see/sea! But when you take this same type of technology and stretch it out much WIDER than the normally short attention span, it creates a FANTASTIC effect. A very pleasant, "who was that guy" effect. One that will do the same thing as actual magic. Create social proof and authority. And if you want, tons of attraction. Learn How: https://mindpersuasion.teachable.com/p/party-hypnosis/

  18. https://loopvids.s3.amazonaws.com/July16Post.mp4 A very common desire among would-be persuaders is a secret collection of magic words that would work on anybody. The idea is very compelling. It's as old as written language itself. Ever since the dawn of time, humans have struggled to survive. The idea of conjuring magic to shortcut the necessary work is therefore very compelling. For the longest time, people sought out alchemy. Isaac Newton, the guy who invented calculus and physics, was an alchemist. Not in the modern sense of the word. But back then, BEFORE they figured out chemistry and the structure of atoms and molecules, they really had no idea what the difference between dirt and gold was. So the idea was compelling. To figure out a way to turn dirt into gold. Of course, to the modern brain, this sounds silly. Like it should only happen in fantasy cartoons. But this idea is the source of ALL human invention. To always be dreaming of an EASIER way of doing something. When they discover it, it seems like magic. Then they figure it out, explain it, refine it, etc. And it's no longer magic. But you can't take something that SEEMS like magic, and then explain it scientifically, unless you BELIEVE in magic. At least some type of science that hasn't been discovered yet. Which is essentially what the famous quote is all about. Science, when it's far above our level of understanding, IS magic. Modern desires for conversational alchemy are similar. In the movies, it's pretty easy. If you remember McFly from back to the future, he had a memorize line that was SUPPOSED to make his future wife fall in love with him. But he mispronounced it. He MEANT to say, "You are my destiny." But instead, he said, "You are my density." But he recovered, said it correctly, and it worked. Like magic. This is the core idea of a magic spell. You say it correctly, and it works. You say it incorrectly, and it doesn't work. But is there modern magic? Linguistic alchemy? Yes, but not in the way most people are looking. People are looking for memorized statements. Phrases and patterns. Like in the movies. The trick is not in SAYING the right things, in the right order. But asking the right questions in the right order. This makes this type of magic much more flexible. Much more applicable. Friends, strangers, lovers and everybody in between. 23. A common and very lazy writing technique is called "deus ex machina." It means "god from the machine." It generally refers to books or movies where the hero's are rescued by a sudden character that wasn't there before. It usually happens when the story starts off pretty good, but the only way the writers can figure out how the heroes can win in the end is by some unpredictable magic. Stories that are much better tend to have solutions at the end that you can sort of (at least retrospectively) see coming. These tend to be very enjoyable. So enjoyable they make us want to watch the movie over and over again to see the clues that we missed the first time. On the other hand, movies that end with an unexpected solution out of nowhere are not so enjoyable. Unfortunately, most of us plan our lives with the "deus ex machina" strategy. We expect some entity OUTSIDE of ourselves to show up and save the day. We expect something to be "given" to us. At the very least, we expect our situation to somehow change to make it EASIER for us to get what we want. You can generally tell by asking people some simple questions. If you ask them to imagine fantastic success in a couple of years, and then look back to now, and explain how it happened. Most people will need some kind of deus ex machina event. They meet somebody that does the work for them, or they happen to wander into the right relationship. While it certainly FEELS fantastic to be the recipient of such luck, it begs the question. Why us? Meaning if some other person or situation is going to single US out to give us a big break, or make it easy for us to turn our dreams into reality, why us? Not not the billions of other people? This presents a paradox. The more we DREAM about a big and fantastic future, the more we'll depend on some kind of "deus ex machina" event to make it happen. And the less likely it will happen. On the other hand, if you CONSTRAIN your future to YOUR behavior, it's much likelier to happen. Does this mean that you can't dream big? Not at all. This is another paradox. If you talk to successful people, you'll find they had no idea that they would be successful in the way they actually were. But they did constrain their dreams to their own actions. And when you combine these two elements, it's actually much more powerful than hoping for magic. Because when you dream big, you are dreaming of the future YOU. That CAN exist. Not some magic wish fairy. Which will never exist. Learn More: http://mindpersuasion.com/goal-setting-sucks/

  25. Humans love to be deceived. We pay tons of money to see movies. The movies are people that we KNOW are actors, pretending to be people we KNOW are made up. Even the term, “movie” is not correct. It’s shortened from the old school term, “moving pictures.” (Not to be confused with the Rush album of the same name...) But the pictures DON’T move. It’s a mis-perception. Most of what we THINK is happening around isn’t. Most of the ideas we make up inside our heads about the world around us is INFERRED. This means we take a small slice of actual data, and use that to extrapolate the rest. The only color we REALLY see is at the very center of our focus. Looking at our eye-brain-visual system, everything in our peripheral vision is black and white. We only INFER the colors. If you’ve ever enjoyed watching somebody do magic “tricks,” this is another example of how we ENJOY deception. All magic is based on sleight of hand. All sleight of hand is based on deception. They trick us to look one way, when the do the “magic” the other way. We absolutely LOVE movies like “Inception” and “Sixth Sense.” Where we don’t quite “get” the ending and WANT to watch it again to see exactly HOW we were “fooled.” Of course, there is good trickery and bad trickery. Bad trickery is when you take advantage of other people. Sell somebody a bag of potatoes when it’s really a bag of rocks. Sell them a bottle of magic potion that cures what ails them, only to find it’s colored water. But deception that makes us feel GOOD is fantastic. The entire “story instinct” that the rich storytelling part of EVERY CULTURE is based on is proof of this. We tell each other made up stories about made up people. So we can EMULATE those made up people when we need to. So we can experience REAL EMOTIONS based on the adventures of those made up people. You can think of “cold reading” as a mix of a wonderful magic trick with a wonderful story. To reach into their minds, and through your understanding of human nature and human thought, tell them a wonderful STORY about them. About how THEY will become the hero of their lives. And it will FEEL like magic to them because of the way you deliver it. Just like a skilled magician. And a skilled storyteller. All wrapped up into one. Learn How: http://mindpersuasion.com/cold-reading/
