  1. thanks for mentioning this I was studding Michael Breen's Meta Model dvd's and the way George explains it is much easier to understand. Here is the link
  2. Your post reminds me of the poem "The shipwrecked soul" by Nick Laforce Beware the captain That sails only on smooth waters That drops anchor only in safe harbors That lets aboard only familiar faces That will not brook strong winds or stormy weather. Whose life well lived is a deadly comfort Never to be dashed against rocks of passion Never to be dismembered on the shores on love. Yet a life so well lived it hides a shipwrecked soul I have been such a captain. But now I set out on unknown seas With sails full open Guided by wispers in the wind By images in white capped waves By patterns in the flight of birds And by bits of news from distant ports In search of that soul survivor The almost forgotten fragments of Self That shall heal the world as the world heals me.
  3. Living so close to Yosemite I have learned to love most all thing John Muir. Especially the above quote and whether on a new road or an old trail and when someone asked me if I am lost I just say, no just finding a new way to get to where we are going. Some look at confusion as a bad thing. But since learning hypnosis (and John Muir's quote) I found it to be a wonderful thing because we know that if we have someone confused then the critical mind (conscious) can be bypassed and we can speak directly to the subconscious with that in mind here is another induction. It is what else, a confusion induction embedded into a story, enjoy... One afternoon a girl from the valley set out looking for her friend’s house. She was feeling rather tired and sleepy, but perked up halfway there when she realized she’d forgotten the directions. She decided to check for directions anyway, and holding the wheel with her right hand she used her left hand to place a can of coke on the floor right beside her then reaching right across her side with her left hand to her right coat pocket for the directions she discovered they weren’t there so she thought maybe they were left in her left pocket so she checked right there only to discover they weren’t there either. She then checked both pockets again with alternating hands as she steadied the car steering wheel with her knees she remembered that her friend had said that it is two rights and one left. She took a right and was left with one right and a left. She took a left and was still left with one left and two rights. She tried two rights and was left with one left, and after trying just one left alone was left with two rights, and still she had not found her friend’s house, which was starting to get a bit confusing. She decided to try a bit harder which was hard as she fought off fatigue and the traffic, and the first thing she did was reverse the right-left order, which she definitely thought was the right thing to do just then. Leaving from the corner she took a hard left, leaving two rights left, and still she was not there. A right and a left, and continuing with one more right left her not there yet either, and finally in utter bewilderment and near exasperation, she pulled off the road deciding the only decision she has left must be right, she sat back behind the wheel, took one deep breath and said “I might as well just sleep”
  4. In NLP we call this an anchor. And if you know how the anchor was set to elicit a certain state you could certainly fire off that anchor again and get that flashback you are looking for. A related story to that when I was in my early 20s working in the computer field I was handed a sheet of paper explaining how it was against company policy to give hitch hikers a ride while in a company vehicle or on company time. I read the paper and handed it back to the HR person so she could give it to the next person to read. She bit my head off, because she thought I was handing the paper back to her in protest that I would not follow this policy. When I explained to her that I did not see her handing this paper out to anybody else and that I assumed she just printed the one copy and wanted to share it with everyone her reply was well I just wanted to "nip that in the bud" now any time i hear someone say "nip that in the bud" my mind goes back to how she yelled at me for no good reason.
  5. I'm kinda surprised to find this section of the forum currently empty. So with that in mind I will start it off with a simple yet one of the most powerful inductions I currently know of ... the Elman Induction. Now I know and you will probably find hundreds of different variations of this induction but this is the one I learned when I first got certified in hypnosis. Take a long deep breath, fill up your lungs real good and hold it for a second. Now when you exhale, close your eyes down... And let yourself relax. Get rid of that surface tension in your body, let your shoulders relax. It’s okay to relax today. Now put your awareness on your eyelids. You know that you can relax those eyes beautifully. You know that you can relax those eyes deeply, that as long as you choose not to remove that relaxation those eyelids just won’t work … And when you know that you’ve done that, hold on to that relaxation, give them a good test, make sure they won’t work … and notice how good it feels. Test them hard, it’s okay (pause) that’s good. Stop testing let yourself relax much more. That quality of relaxation you are allowing in your eyes is the quality of relaxation I’d like you to let yourself have throughout your entire body. So take that same quality bring it up to the top of your head … And send it down through your body from the top of your head to the tip of your toes. Let go of every muscle. Let go of every nerve. Let go of every fiber … And let yourself drift much, deeper, relaxed. You got it. Now let’s really deepen this state. In a moment I will ask you to open your eyes. When you close your eyes, send a wave of relaxation through your body, so very quickly, you’ll allow this physical part of you to relax … Ten times deeper. Just want it and you can have it. Let your eyes become open … close your eyes … And really … Let go. Feel your body relax, much more. You’re doing fine. In a moment I’ll ask you to open and close your eyes again. This time when you close your eyes, double this physical relaxation … Really let It grow twice as deep. Let your eyes become open … Way down … Deeper … Deeper … Relaxed. In a moment we’ll do it one more time … And notice how well it comes in this time as you learn how simple it is … At least double it. All right let your eyes become open … Way down …really let go. That’s good. That’s good. In a moment I’m going to lift your right arm and drop it. Don’t help me lift that arm … And when it drops down, just notice how much more, your body can relax very easily. (arm drop) perfect. Way down. Great… Now the body is relaxed … so let’s get the mind relaxed, that’s really what we want to do. When your mind is relaxed you really can achieve anything you can think of, within certain restrictions of course. In a moment I’ll ask you to slowly begin counting out loud, backwards, starting with the number 100. After each number, simply say the words “deeper relaxed”. After each number double your mental relaxation, let your mind grow twice as calm and still and serene. No if you do this, you’ll discover by the time you just say a couple numbers, doesn’t take long, you’ve relaxed your mind so beautifully and so completely, you’ve actually relaxed all the rest of the numbers out. Want that … And you can have it quickly. Slowly begin counting out loud, backwards, starting with the number 100. Saying the words, deeper relaxed … And relax those numbers right out of your mind. “100 deeper relaxed” That’s good. “99 deeper relaxed” That’s fine “98 deeper relaxed” Now you can let those numbers grow dim and distant, they’re not important. “97 deeper relaxed” And when you’re ready just push them out. “96 deeper relaxed” Now push them on out, jest tell them to leave and they will go. Just let them go … And let them be gone. … Numbers all gone? (or , continue until yes is the reply) Now I hope this helps anybody who is new to hypnosis or has not used the Elman induction before. You can also find quite a few examples of this on youtube but like I said there are many variations of it. This is the purest form I know of and while learning it I made a few changes to it to make it more natural for me. But what I found it when I tweaked it, the induction did not work. I don't know why I just went back to this script and my inductions started working again. So keep that in mind if you do make certain changes it may not work as well but it if it doesn't just go back to the original script.
  6. I stick my windows phone in my pillow case so the phone does not fall to the ground and crack the screen or something else. I also use tooks sports band for headphone while I sleep as I roll around too much to keep earbuds in my ears.
  7. If you can write your affirmations you will strengthen the neuro pathways faster as you writing is adding a kinesthetic aspect to you affirmations. Of coarse listening to you affirmations gives you the auditory and reading them gives you the visual. Now if you can find a way to taste and smell them, I am sure your affirmations will turn into reality in no time at all.
  8. Bluebird was a cold War Mind Control Experimentation approved by the CIA funded by the CIA, Army, Navy, Air Force, and by other agencies including the Public Health Service and the Scottish Rite Foundation on April 20, 1950. In August 1951, the Project was renamed ARTICHOKE. BLUEBIRD and ARTICHOKE included a great deal of work on the creation of amnesia, hypnotic couriers, and the Manchurian Candidate (Super Spies) In summary Bluebird is described as unethical experiments conducted by psychiatrists to create amnesia, new identities, hypnotic access codes, and new memories in the minds of experimental subjects Now I am pretty sure that no one here is not thinking of doing something unethical, but am curious as to the techniques that one would use from project bluebird in order to create more effective subliminals.
  9. I found a quote from a long time ago written by a man we have all heard of. He said, "It is better to create than to learn. Creating is the essence of life." I thought about this because I was always told you need to get an education. You need to spend the rest of your life learning. For me learning seemed to be the essence of life. Then I took a look at some of the great people in history, a place I want to be someday, and none of these people where acknowledge for what they learned. Sure we hold in high regard people who have PHDs and even address them differently as in Dr. instead of Mr. but it is not what a man or woman learns that makes them great but what they create. I was fortunate to meet Robert Dilts the creator of Sleight of Mouth and many other wonderful NLP techniques but the one that sticks out the most to me is the Disney Strategy I listened to as he gave a lectured to a packed conference room in Palo Alto one Autumn evening. I never felt so alive, I had never had so many ideas running through my mind of how to create products and services to help people. So it is for that reason I suggest reading the book "Tools for Dreamers" by Dilts P.S. Oh and the quote was from Julius Ceasar
  10. In NLP we learn that there are 4 stages of learning Unconscious incompetence (stage 1) - we don't know what we don't know - I don't know if there is a planet somewhere in the universe with humans on it besides earth. Unconscious incompetence (stage 2)- we know what we don't know - I know I don't know how to play the piano Conscious Competence - (stage 3)-we know how do something if we think about it - I know the alphabet and the order it which it is sang unconscious competence (Stage 4)- we are so good at something we need not think about something to accomplish it. - I know how to tie my shoe, but I do not remember doing it this morning although my shoes are on my feet and tied now so I must have tied them since they have laces. Now the 10,000 hours rule is referring to unconscious competence. But it only takes a second or a few seconds at most for us to realize stage 2, And only about 20 hours to achieve stage 3 conscious competence. according to Josh Kaufaman TEDx youtube Now if we really listen to the rule of 10,000 that was first created by Dr. Anders Ericsson only to be simplified by Malcom Gladwell we would find that Expert performers acquire their superior performance and skills through extended deliberate practice (high concentration beyond ones comfort zone) Is listening to subliminals high and concentration beyond ones comfort zone? If we watch and listen to the TEDx 10,000 hours by Laura Isaac we find that we need to fail and that a masters failures out number the novices total number of attempts. So how do we fail if we are only listening to subliminals and if we are not failing and not concentrating beyond ones comfort zone then can 10,000 hours be enough to reach Stage 4 unconscious competence?
  11. I want to answer your second question first. I know I am not responding to this in a timely manner and you may already have answered the question yourself, but my answer may help someone else who is in the same situation as you. First if you do not feel comfortable meeting this person, do not do it. We humans are the only animals who do not listen to our intuition and often regret it. I would ask if you will not listen to me then at least listen to yourself. Now let me tell you about my first experience with hypnosis. I saw a posting on craigslist of someone wanting to practice hypnosis and since I at the time did not believe in listening to myself, the subconscious or unconscious mind or anything else you want to call it. I invited this person over to my home to practice hypnosis on me because I wanted to see if this hypnosis stuff really worked or not. Well after he showed up he put me into a light trance. I did not feel anything different than what I feel everyday except for the fact someone was talking to me, my eyes where closed and I was relaxed. Well the commands this person gave to my subconscious was when he said a certain word (so long ago can't remember it now) I would go and get him a glass of water. He spoke said word and I got up and got him a glass of water. He also made a suggestion that when he said another word (again so long ago can't remember what it was) that I would poor the glass of water on my head. He spoke the the second said word and I started to wondering why I even got the glass of water in the first place. I knew he wanted me to poor the glass over my head getting myself, my couch and carpet all wet but there was a very strong voice in my head that said no. We talked about the hypnosis session for a few minutes after and then I asked him to leave. What I should have done was poor the water over his head and if I was thinking clearer that is what I would have done. So CAN hypnosis be used to get you to do something you don't want? Yes, it can if your will is not strong enough. Watch Darren Brown "The Heist" on youtube or man hypnotizes cashier and steals money also available on youtube. That being said it took me years to get comfortable enough to go to a certified hypnosis training where I could learn hypnosis. But if you are able to get a hold of the Jeffery Stephens videos I recommend those above the certified training I paid much more for, because I feel I learned much more from the video than I did the 40 hours in class. Now the first question do you think direct hypnosis - or rather the 3 part hypnosis - induction, body, waking up (or sleeping) ending part might work at all through text on a quite suggestible subject or should I stick to the other techniques? I don't know of a way it would because Jefferey Stephens taught me that the true secret to being a good hypnotist is watching the client(and noticing all the movements and micro-expressions) during hypnosis and I do not know how one could do that via texting or without being face to face.
  12. My two favorite books are Influence by Cialdini and Words that Change Minds by Shelle Rose Charvet
  13. What is your favorite NLP technique and can you give a good example of it? Mine in Sleight of Mouth and my favorite example is from 1984 in the presidential debate when Henry Trewhitt asked Reagan if he thought that his age would be an issue since he was already the oldest president in united states history. He answered it so comically even Walter Mondale had to laugh.
  14. I see the goal of NLP to be to improve what ever intention an individual a person wants to feel better about. Most people I know use NLP to help others with psychotherapy. So they are intending to us NLP to improve the lives of others. I use NLP for sales, so my goal or purpose would be to communicate more effectively to my customers so they come to realize that the product I am offering is useful and can benefit them substantially.
  15. I believe many people have many misconceptions about NLP. One is that you can do anything. The truth is NLP is much like a tool box that assists you in what you already know how to do but when you use NLP you can do it better. So can you get into any level of politics if you know NLP really good? If you are a convicted felon, probably not. If you where not born in this country you can not become president. If you are good at politics and want to help people can NLP help you communicate and persuade people more effectively, yes most defiantly.
  16. My friend John had the same issue, he knew he needed money but could not find the motivation and felt lazy because he was unable to find his passion in life. He spoke with a few people about this and found someone finally who could help him. It was like a light switch went off in his head. He was happy again and felt good about himself because he was making a contributions and now had a self of self worth. Instead of feeling stuck he felt free and energized to find tasks and complete tasks in his daily life.
